Marc Gurung first made his mark as a film editor, working on fiction, advertising, and music videos. He went on to direct four short films that explore themes of integration and belonging. While his early shorts addressed the quest for identity and injustice, his more recent work delves into his mother's story and his own connection to his roots. His third film, *La Symphonie des Marteaux* (broadcast on France 3), deals with displacement, recounting the story of a young Nepali woman forced to live in France. His fourth film, *Maitighar* (broadcast on Canal+), focuses on forced marriage within the Gurung tradition and was shot in his parents' village in Nepal. He is currently developing his first feature film, which is set entirely in Nepal.
